It’s time for Author’s Commentary!
I felt that Mrs. Flour’s seemingly unconditional affection for her possible son-in-law wasn’t clear, and I really wanted to just get it out of the way so I could move onto some different plots and such. And so, this was another case of “I could spend the whole month explaining this, or condense it into one comic” deal. I do feel bad that it hits a major redundancy with the last strip, but I’m in the middle of my final week of college for the semester, and I don’t really have time to care.
This has been Author’s Commentary!
I’m laughing so hard my side hurts
I’ve been meaning to ask you this for a while. Why did you pick Whatever Whenever Wherever as the title for your comic? I’ve followed the series almost since it started, but I can’t figure the title out.
Never really thought about it. I just needed a title a couple years ago, and Whatever, Whenever, Wherever just seemed like the “catchiest” title I could think of.
I guess it kind of goes with the idea of not staying centered on one character or setting for too long, barring development plots anyway.
I could write entire year encompassing plots concerning Kate in college, but I also want to make a little joke about trendy clothes stores. And I ALSO want to reveal why Mrs. Flour is so gosh-darn nice to Jam. And among all that, sometimes, I just want to make a strip about Kaveman being a general ninny. And you know what, sometimes, just sometimes, I wanna make a comic about Mary being a cute little angel- or a sexually curious teenager.
So, I just make comics about Whatever I want, Whenever I want, set Wherever I want.
Right on, man.
